Skrillex: My name is Skrillex ***

My name is Skrillex is an introduction or a birth even, of one of the newest players in the electronic/Dance scene. Skrillex aka Sonny John Moore brings the noise with his highly charged brand of elctro dance in this his first EP.

A Breath of fresh air on the Dance genre and as unique as an egg with three yolks this EP is definitely the beginning of something amazing and new. Rock,electro and dance infused, justice and Deadmaus inspired this has everything an electro-head would want! The six rounds of sheer energy that are on this come out fast and furious with real power and electricity, I mean if you like noise then you are going to love this!

Starting with the first track “my name is Skrillex” we go straight in with the electronic sampling and beats, reminiscent of crystal castles, which are then switched up into a guitar riff which leads into a justice inspired body shaking beat. Electro dance never sounded so good. With such a loud and proud sound the song and the rest EP moves on in the same way keeping your head nodding and feet tapping. Baltimore clap is effectively infused in “weekend”, the second track of the album, along with a lot of what I like to call a lot of “womping” and drumbeats which carry the sound along. Tracks like “With your friends” show that skrillex is not a one trick pony with a softer approach with more sythasizers and less hard beats, more reminicient of summer dance anthems. Drums, synths, guitars and samples are the main “instruments” used to great effect with a definite “Skrillex sound that is carried through all the tracks making a mark. However this EP is a little limited with; a similar and not AS diverse sound that there could be whilst still keep an identity.  This does not take away from this EP in the slightest, being the first it is absolutely amazing by any standard and definitely marks the way for our newest player in dance.
