I Just Need a Homie

Out on the 17th October, and no doubt previewed on 4music (they've got deals with the Dapster), N-Dubz are on their Best Behaviour///

Although sounding a little too commercial for die hard fans' tastes, this new release takes N-Dubz to their pinnacle, with a fitting STEP UP from We Dance On (There's no difference between the two films so the joke stands).
With the recognizably rising rhythm and Playing With Fire esque intro, this song represents the climax of N-Dubz in their current form. Dappy provides the familiar, somewhat internally warming, delivery that we've come to expect, with Tulisa filling out the choruses in a way that she's got to be bored of by now. Fazer's the real star here though - having been steadily increasing his airtime across the past few songs and showcasing his talents as a competent rapper in the latter third of this track. Without the characteristic voice/attitude of Dappy or the curves of Tulisa, Fazer's struggled to create his own identity, but with this latest conquest, hopefully his skills will be utilised more and more, as a further dimension for the N-Dubz future.

Although predictable and a little commercial, their latest track represents a fitting conclusion for N-Dubz in their current style. They've perfected the genre they seem to be the only musicians in, and although forgettable, this song represents this perfection well.
